THE DEMOLITION AND EVICTIONS BEGIN IN HERONGATE

Residents were just notified last night that they will lose their homes.

Timbercreek and the councillor have just announced the evictions and demolition of another big part of Herongate. THE EVICTIONS BEGIN!

They knew explicitly about this for weeks, yet decided to consult with residents about the future of Herongate when those residents would not even be living here.

Therefore: WE ARE CALLING A PUBLIC MEETING ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND THE CRISIS IN HERONGATE FOR SATURDAY MAY 12 AT 10AM AT HERON ROAD COMMUNITY CENTRE.

Please attend and spread the word.

Subject: Heron Gate resident relocation

Dear community colleagues,

I am writing today to advise that Timbercreek Communities has taken steps to move forward with a decision to relocate 105 residents of HG5 (townhomes on Heron Road).

Last evening, Timbercreek held a meeting with affected residents to outline the process, including its Relocation Assistance Program. Please see the attached statement in which you will find a link to further details.

Although I was briefed by Timbercreek and Momentum about impending relocations on April 18, the information was embargoed until residents were informed, and I agreed to maintain confidentiality out of respect for the privacy of the affected residents.

This is not an easy time and I can assure you I will be supporting every resident as they transition to a new home.

As always, I am available to discuss this important community matter and welcome any feedback you may have.
